The General House is a sign of the Company of Mary’s universality and the fact that the Company is a Body for the mission. It is the headquarters of the General Government. Many celebrations, gatherings and meetings take place here. We call it “the House of All.” It remains in the same location since 1921 when the union of the autonomous houses took place. This house gives witness to Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac’s desire to found an Order with a centralized government similar to that of the Society of Jesus. This desire could not be fulfilled in her time because of the restrictions imposed by the Council of Trent that marked that time in history.
At this moment there are 17 sisters in the community, from 9 nationalities and from four continents. It is an intercultural experience that challenges us to be a sign of God’s Kingdom in a diverse and plural world.
