Our spirituality

Spirituality

When meeting someone to speak of the things of God our Lord, although he be a great sinner, I will be the one to benefit and profit from it.
Ignatius of Loyola
We call “spirituality” the experience of God’s action in each person, the presence of God in each culture and religion. Thus we say that there is a Christian, Buddhist, Islamic or Jewish spirituality… The Spirit blows where it wills, you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. (Jn. 3)

The Spirit of God is the life of the Church and the one who inspires in us to love and follow Jesus; the Spirit centers our lives in him.

The spirituality of the Company of Mary is a gift from God for the Church and for us through the founding charism of Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac. In her, in her transforming night in the Cistercian monastery, we find the inspirational source of the Company:

To follow Jesus, like Mary:

  • Contemplating his presence in all of reality and allowing us to be touched by it
  • Extending our hand as educators in situations in need of salvation where life is most vulnerable.
  • In an attitude of discernment, according to the Ignatian Spirituality that Saint Jeanne adapted to the circumstances of women.
  • Always seeking the Greater Glory of God.

To belong to the Company of Mary, as religious or lay person, is to accept this grace and live it fully.
